Led by Specialist Industry Manager from the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania, Larni Davies, and in partnership with WxNW, TasPorts and the Burnie City Council this free session is tailored specifically to the Burnie cruise season, with practical tips, local insights, and real-world scenarios to help you feel prepared and supported in your role.
What you'll learn:
- The unique role of cruise shore-ex guides and how it differs from regular touring
- Passenger profiles – who they are, what they expect, and how to impress
- Group and time management essentials (headcounts, schedules, mobility needs)
- How to tell great local stories without information overload
- Burnie’s key highlights, hidden gems, and seasonal talking points
- How to handle tricky questions, complaints, and cultural misunderstandings
- The course is interactive, friendly, and will help you provide visitors with a quality experience.
