THTA has partnered with GOVLAW to offer Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Finance Training for $75.00.

Does your Pub, Club or casino have gaming machines (‘pokies’)?

Under federal AML/CTF law all gaming staff and management must complete anti-money laundering training at appropriate intervals. Failure to comply is a breach of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth) (AML/CTF Act) and civil penalties (fines by AUSTRAC) may apply.

GOVLAW AML/CTF training for gaming venues is available online and on-demand and includes:

  • The latest AUSTRAC suspicious matter indicators
  • What steps are required for any high-risk customers
  • The key changes under the AML/CTF reforms, from 2026

GOVLAW AML/CTF training includes a randomised question bank, access to login for up to 12 months and a certificate for download. The course is presented by a lawyer with over 10 years prior employment experience at the regulator, AUSTRAC.

This AML/CTF training can be used for induction and/or refresher training for gaming staff and management.

Participants can enrol at any time, via the GovLaw website.

THTA has partnered with the Queensland Hotels Association (RTO 30826) to provide a nationally recognised online training program for Food Safety Supervisors (SITXFSA005 and SITXFSA006).

In Tasmania, all licensed food businesses must have an accessible Food Safety Supervisor (FSS). The Food Safety Supervisor qualification must have been attained within the last five years, as there was previously no expiry date on the certificates. The best practice is a business should nominate a Primary and a Secondary Food Safety Supervisor for each site/premises.

The training for Food Safety Supervisors encompasses the following units:

  • SITXFSA005 – Use hygienic practices for food safety &
  • SITXFSA006 – Participate in safe food handling practices
